For Joanne’s Starlit

By

Dori

On Friday, I found out that one of my Doodle Kisses “sisters”, Joanne, had lost their precious girl, Starlit, to a brain aneurysm earlier in the week.   Starlit turned two in October and was a beautiful, big Old English Sheepdog/Poodle mix.  She was rescued from a puppy mill and Joanne’s little girl…her baby.

My heart hurts for Joanne, her husband Roger, and Starlit’s older Doodle brother, Spud.  It isn’t fair that Starlit was taken from them so early in her young life.  I can only believe that God has special plans for Starlit.

You have touched so many lives Starlit.  You hold a special place in my heart.

  1. That’s a nice tribute. Your great idea to donate has been followed by a lot of us, so maybe that money will help DRC rescue another doodle and find him/her a wonderful home and family, just like they did for Starlit. It’s a great way to honor her memory.

    1. Thank you, Leslie! It had such an effect on me that I wanted to do something special. It sure would be nice to be able to make a difference to another Doodle at some point. Starlit would have liked that…I know Joanne will. On another note, I am thrilled that someone read my blog. Most of the “comments” I get are spam! LOL As an accountant, I am quite left-brained, so, this is me trying to exercise the right side and share about my life with Rua.

  2. I think both sides of your brain are just beautiful, Dori. 🙂
This was a surprise. How nice to find my girl here being honored and remembered here.
I am speechless and humbled that you thought of us and wrote such a nice tribute. I really really miss her.
    Thank you
